Therapy for trauma

Online & In-person in ohio

Our experiences become our story, shaping how we live in and engage with the world around us.

Though some parts of our story may be neutral or positive, others can be sources of stress or discomfort, impacting our lives even when time has passed. When these chapters are part of your story, it can feel as though you are stuck in a loop. You may notice the memories of that time pulling you away from the present or interrupting your ability to connect. The constant pull to the past leaves you tense and tired from trying to manage your emotions and makes it nearly impossible to regulate or effectively communicate. Stuck in survival mode, you may be looking for any way to get out of the cycle and decrease the impact of the pull.

Working through trauma can be a daunting process, but with the right support and resources, you can begin to work through your experiences and start the path towards healing.

Using a foundation of trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship, your work in sessions can help you rewrite your story and reestablish your sense of self.

What is trauma?

Trauma is not always determined by what we experience but by how we react and respond to said experiences. When an individual experiences trauma, their body and brain go through changes, altering the way they think, feel, behave, and engage with the world around them. The result is similar to that of a physical injury, both in how the body changes and in how it can heal.
