Jennifer Vargo

Licensed social worker (she/her)

I believe all people possess strengths and abilities to create a fulfilling life.

I partner with my clients to utilize their strengths and abilities to achieve their goals. I provide a compassionate and accepting space for individuals and families to process their thoughts and emotions, heal from traumatic and painful experiences, and work through personal challenges. My intention is to create a working relationship with clients where they can learn skills to manage emotions, strengthen relationships, and act in a way that aligns with their values.

My approach to therapy is holistic. I believe in helping my clients strengthen their mind and body connections and tap into their internal wisdom and resources. I meet them where they are and, together, we chart a path forward to reaching their goals. I provide therapy to individuals of all ages and genders and support children through family therapy.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

I received my master’s degrees in social work and business management from The Ohio State University and bachelor’s degree in dance from Denison University. I spent most of my career leading statewide education policies and programs focused on helping schools support students' mental, physical and social wellness. As an elementary school principal, I created a trauma-informed school and implemented Restorative Practices.

I want to use my passion and experience in education to support the mental health and well-being of educators. I understand the constant stress and pressure educators experience. By providing individual therapy and educator support groups I hope to create a space where educators feel seen, valued and rejuvenated.

The modalities I most frequently utilize include:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Brief Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Mindfulness
