Our approach to substance use counseling is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and evidence-based. We work with individuals to identify the underlying causes of their use and help them build healthier coping strategies. Recovery is possible, and healing begins with the first conversation.
what is substance abuse?
Substance use refers to the consumption of alcohol, prescription medications, or illicit drugs in a way that can negatively impact a person's health, behavior, and daily functioning. While some people may begin using substances recreationally or to cope with stress or emotional pain, continued use can lead to dependence, addiction, and a range of physical and psychological consequences. Substance use can affect relationships, work, and overall quality of life, and often occurs alongside other mental health challenges.

Common questions about therapy for depression

A good way to know if your substance use may be a problem is to look at how it’s affecting different areas of your life. Ask yourself: is my use interfering with my work, school, or relationships? Do I use substances to cope with stress, anxiety, or other emotions? If you’ve noticed changes in your behavior, mood, or health—or if others have expressed concern—it may be time to talk to someone.
